NVIS for Emergency Communications PDF Print E-mail

Near-Vertical Incidence Skywave or NVIS has proven to be a useful, if not vital, radio communications mode for the military since at least the World War II era.  More recently, users in the civilian arena have made NVIS a significant part of their emergency communications plan to provide dependable short to medium range communications.  "NVIS for Emergency Communications" will provide the attendee with a basic understanding of the NVIS propagation mode, proper frequency selection and an overview of the various types of rapidly deployable NVIS antennas that are in use today.
